Rancho Cucamonga Runs Away From Redlands
Best bookstores in Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga (Photos)
If there is any more to shake off, the rest of the Inland Division should be worried. After falling behind 3-0, the No. 2 team in the CIF-SS Inland Division poll ran away with a 40-17 win over No. 7 Redlands on Friday. The Cougars quickly took the air out of what was billed as a significant early season matchup as their new cast of offensive characters showed out and the touted defense delivered. Quarterback Adam Friederichsen, who transferred from La Costa Canyon during the summer, finished 14 of 23 passing for 157 yards and three touchdowns, most of which were compiled in a first half Rancho Cucamonga finished with a 21-3 lead. The Cougars' sophomore running back duo of Khalil Muhammad and Kiraun Mayo combined for 207 yards on 23 carries filling in admirably for senior Tyan Washington, who is out for at least the first half of the season after breaking his foot last week. The bruising Mayo's 5-yard touchdown run, his second score of the night, gave Rancho Cucamonga a 34-3 lead with 10:03 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Rick M. Vartanian, 57, of Ladera Ranch, had been convicted of obstruction of justice and employing illegal immigrants at his company, Brownwood Furniture. Along with the prison sentence, U.S. District Judge Gary Fees on Monday also ordered Vartanian to pay a $15,000 fine. In November 2009, officials said, Vartanian told investigators with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that unauthorized workers identified during an earlier audit were no longer employed by the company. In fact, Vartanian had kept 18 of those workers on his payroll and was concealing their employment, according to federal officials, who said the investigation began when the immigration agency received an anonymous tip that Brownwood Furniture had hired the illegal workers. A federal audit of the company's personnel in 2009 found that 61 of the firm's 73 employees had submitted invalid documents to obtain their jobs, officials said. "As these sentences make clear, employers who knowingly hire unauthorized workers face serious consequences," Claude Arnold, special agent in charge for ICE Homeland Security investigations in Los Angeles, said in a statement.

Firefighter, Surrendered Baby Reunited
It was one of the first times a baby was surrendered under the protection of the law. That baby is now a 12-year-old girl named Maddy - and she and her adoptive mother are powerful advocates for the law, which is somewhat controversial as some contend it makes it too easy to give up a child. Her adoptive mother tracked down Davenport, who took her to safety 12 years ago. Davenport didn't know much about Maddy's birth mother, he said.

Active-shooter Drills Held In Rancho Cucamonga
Medical Marijuana Advocates to Stage Rally Monday at Anti-Marijuana Conference in Rancho Cucamonga
"This is a unique role for us. A lot of fire departments don't take an active role in training with their sheriff's department, but we have a longstanding relationship with them that has allowed this to happen," said Kelley Donaldson, spokeswoman for the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department. Donaldson said what they learned from the 2012 theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., was that if the fire department and paramedics can get to the scene quickly, they can treat wounds on the spot. But their moves have to be in partnership with law enforcement, Donaldson said. Typically, law enforcement has to clear the scene before medical personnel or the fire department can get in and help victims, but lives are lost in that time frame, authorities say. In Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga, law enforcement and the fire department are trying a new approach. Members of the fire department will go in with a team of armed law enforcement officers before the scene has been deemed completely safe to treat the seriously wounded.

"Patient advocates stand with local and state officials, including the California Attorney General, in demanding statewide medical marijuana regulations," said ASA California Director Don Duncan. "In order to accomplish this, however, law enforcement associations and other medical marijuana opponents meeting in Rancho Cucamonga must begin to work with us to establish a framework that will serve both patients and the public at large." The Marijuana Policy & Strategy Conference comes less than two weeks after some of its sponsors successfully thwarted passage of AB 604, the Medical Cannabis Regulation and Control Act , a bill that would have developed, implemented, and enforced regulations for commercial medical marijuana activity throughout California, including production, processing, distribution, transportation, and testing. Like previous attempts over the past couple of years, AB 604 failed to pass due to aggressive lobbying efforts by law enforcement, despite the call to adopt such legislation by California's top law enforcement official , Attorney General Kamala Harris. Last month, U.S. Deputy Attorney General James Cole issued a policy statement claiming that as long as states implement "strong and effective regulatory and enforcement systems to control the cultivation, distribution, sale, and possession of marijuana," the DOJ would not use its prosecutorial discretion and would instead defer to local and state law enforcement.

"I think there's a really good system of getting kids out early and getting them involved early. There's a little bit better school system than the city schools, so their development is a little more advanced. "A lot of Inland Empire kids now are doing a lot of good things. I think this is just one of those programs where they've kind of lucked into some kids. Rancho Cucamonga is a pretty big area, and having Chris Hawkins and Tahaan Goodman on the same team -- two four-star guys who are pushing five stars -- is definitely kind of special." Baiz understands that as well as anyone. He appreciates the luxury that comes with having two Rivals100 prospects in the same secondary. Baiz also capitalizes on Goodman's versatility by occasionally playing him at outside linebacker and allowing him to blitz. "Chris is just a very good athlete, a real fluid athlete," Baiz said.

The true sign of the Dodgers lack of catching depth is that a 2013 draft pick tops this position. For that matter, Farmer, 23, was a senior sign out of Georgia, taken in the eighth round. A converted shortstop, Farmer swung a potent bat (.347/.386/.533, 4 HR, 36 RBI) and acquitted himself well behind the plate. Of course, he was older than most of his Pioneer League competition and Ogden is a very hitter-friendly place to play. Rock faces in the canyon have also been painted with graffiti. Officials hope the National Parks Service, in collaboration with other agencies and organizations with land interests in the area, would work together to protect resources, restore ecology, and improve recreational opportunities. Villenas and other officials said that if the Cucamonga Canyon area were to come under oversight by the National Parks Service, private land ownership in the area would remain the same. I think the benefits would be huge, said Dorothy Burchfield, a resident of northwest Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga, who has been holding neighborhood meetings with concerned residents about the issues surrounding the canyon. COMMENTARY | Matt Kemp has spent time on the disabled list three separate times this season -- twice for his shoulder and once for his ankle. Rancho Cucamonga Sweeps Past Redlands East Valley In Volleyball
Rancho Cucamonga requests National Parks oversight for canyon
Flores said the target date for Frosts return is Oct. 10, against Baseline League favorite, Los Osos. Flores was frustrated early in the match as the Wildcats (0-2), led in the first set 17-15, before the Cougars pulled it out. They had a lead again in the second, 13-10, but that didnt last. The Cougars (5-1) seemed to flip a switch, scoring 15 of the final 17 points, including a stretch where Guillard had kills on three consecutive points. We started running our attack better, Flores said. And I took a senior out and put in a freshman who hadnt played all year. That freshman, 5-foot-8 outside hitter Sydney Culpepper, had seven kills on just 17 swings. The Cougars had a distinct advantage in that they had one of the top setters around, sophomore Kylie Miller, who not only had 42 assists, but also added 10 kills and five aces. She makes everyone around her better, Flores said.

The timing remains a work in progress for Matt Kemp in his first rehabilitation game since his July 21 sprained ankle . The Dodgers outfielder struck out swinging in his third at-bat for the Class-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Thursday, as he fouled a 2-2 pitch from 21-year-old pitcher Stephen Landazuri into the glove of High Desert Mavericks catcher Steven Baron. Kemp is 0-for-3 on the night, after grounding out to second base in the first inning and grounding into a double play in the third. Kemp said before the game he was more concerned with addressing the timing of his swing than fretting about the ankle that he tested by running on basepaths Tuesday and running more Wednesday to gain a clearance to play for the Quakes.

Im in favor of it. I think people are already using the canyon excessively and were not going to be able to stop them without the assistance of federal agencies, volunteers and more tax money. Still, she acknowledged the difficulties of everything falling into place. Even if the National Parks designation does go through, I dont think theres anything they can do for us in the right timeline, Burchfield said. It still has to go through Congress and then theres the money, if there is any.

Rancho Cucamonga Looks For Help Managing Cucamonga Canyon
Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga man arrested in connection with 17-year-old homicide
Theyre in a position to potentially bring their technical expertise and the capacity to provide the management and coordination that is really lacking up there. Were all trying our best, but were not experts in preserving the canyon and providing recreational opportunities for the public. The U.S, Forest Service currently has jurisdiction over much of the canyon. Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga Fire Chief Mike Bell, who is helping coordinate efforts on the citys side, said the Forest Service does the best with the resources they have, though, theyre extremely limited in their budget to accomplish their mission, which is to enable access onto public lands. Were not experts in how to handle graffiti or in how to preserve it, Villenas said. Were also not experts in designing a trail network up there or establishing an interpretive trail. So there is the potential for ranger hikes with the National Park Service and the potential to bring things like a trailhead with parking and restroom facilities. The National Park Service in April released the San Gabriel Watershed and Mountains Special Resource Study, which recommends the establishment of a San Gabriel Unit of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. The area would include the San Gabriel Mountain foothills, part of the San Gabriel and Rio Hondo river corridors, and western Puente Hills. The Park Service would manage the area through partnerships with private landowners toward resource protection, ecological restoration and education programs, according to a city staff report on the matter. The city is also recommending that undeveloped land south of the canyon outside of the national forest and within city limits also be included in the National Recreation Area, according to the report.

Riverside County's Ronda Rousey and Rancho Cucamonga's Cody Bollinger appear on the show. Rousey is one of the coaches on the show, and Bollinger is fighting on the show with the hopes of winning a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship . In the beginning of the show, Miesha Tate walks into the TUF training center and surprises Rousey. Tate reveals that she has come to coach on TUF 18 . Rousey worries that she has been replaced by Tate, but UFC President Dana White informs Rousey that Tate will be taking the place of Cat Zingano, who has suffered a knee injury. After White tells Rousey that she will coach against Tate, he introduces the contestants on TUF 18 to the two coaches, Tate and Rousey. Male fighters and, for the first time on TUF, female fighters in the 135-pound division are competing on this season of the show.

Authorities believe the shooter may also be involved in another homicide. Gabriel Ralph Bencomo, 35, of Rancho Cucamonga was apprehended in Riverside Thursday in connection to the killing of Joseph Anthony Anguiano's, according to a news release. Members of the Cold Case team looked over the case in 2010 and resubmitted DNA samples http://attorney-in-rancho-cucamonga.com/more-information/bankruptcy/ gathered at the scene 17 years ago, said Deputy District Attorney John Thomas. "The ankle's good," Kemp said before batting second for the Quakes as the team's designated hitter. "I just need to get some at-bats. That's why I'm here: Get your timing back." Kemp trotted to first base while grounding out into his first double play in the third inning. But in the seventh, he accelerated faster before being thrown out again on a double-play grounder to third base.

The plan must be approved as an act of Congress and signed by the president, but city officials are hopeful for a successful outcome which they believe could potentially mean better management of the problems that plague the canyon. He was clearly frustrated as he left the field Aug. 31. Yes, he's facing unfamiliar pitching, but he's also facing pitchers who probably won't ever sniff a major-league roster. Kemp has another few days to figure it out. But he'll need to get back http://attorney-in-rancho-cucamonga.com/ to facing major-league pitching before the end of this month. Adding a bat of Kemp's caliber for the playoffs is almost unprecedented and is an embarrassment of riches for the Dodgers.

Active-shooter Drills Held In Rancho Cucamonga
FOOTBALL: Redlands upended by Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga
"This is a unique role for us. A lot of fire departments don't take an active role in training with their sheriff's department, but we have a longstanding relationship with them that has allowed this to happen," said Kelley Donaldson, spokeswoman for the Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga Fire Department. It's a technique modeled after what combat soldiers do to treat the wounded in a war zone. Officials hope putting it in place will help save lives in the future.
