RANCHO CUCAMONGA: Fundraiser set for crash victim, 4

Kemp trotted to first base while grounding out into his first double play in the third inning. But in the seventh, he accelerated faster before being thrown out again on a double-play grounder to third base.

Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga looks for help managing Cucamonga Canyon

Neil Nisperos The plan must be approved as an act of Congress and signed by the president, but city officials are hopeful for a successful outcome which they believe could potentially mean better management of the problems that plague the canyon. The National Park Service is better positioned to handle an area like Cucamonga Canyon, said Fabian Villenas, principal management analyst for the City Managers Office. Theyre in a position to potentially bring their technical expertise and the capacity to provide the management and coordination that is really lacking up there. Were all trying our best, but were not experts in preserving the canyon and providing recreational opportunities for the public. The U.S, Forest Service currently has jurisdiction over much of the canyon. Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga Fire Chief Mike Bell, who is helping coordinate efforts on the citys side, said the Forest Service does the best with the resources they have, though, theyre extremely limited in their budget to accomplish their mission, which is to enable access onto public lands. Were not experts in how to handle graffiti or in how to preserve it, Villenas said.

He was clearly frustrated as he left the field Aug. 31. Yes, he's facing unfamiliar pitching, but he's also facing pitchers who probably won't ever sniff a major-league roster. Kemp has another few days to figure it out. But he'll need to get back http://attorney-in-rancho-cucamonga.com/ to facing major-league pitching before the end of this month. Adding a bat of Kemp's caliber for the playoffs is almost unprecedented and is an embarrassment of riches for the Dodgers.

Active-shooter Drills Held In Rancho Cucamonga

FOOTBALL: Redlands upended by Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga

"This is a unique role for us. A lot of fire departments don't take an active role in training with their sheriff's department, but we have a longstanding relationship with them that has allowed this to happen," said Kelley Donaldson, spokeswoman for the Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga Fire Department. Donaldson said what they learned from the 2012 theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., was that if the fire department and paramedics can get to the scene quickly, they can treat wounds on the spot. But their moves have to be in partnership with law enforcement, Donaldson said. Typically, law enforcement has to clear the scene before medical personnel or the fire department can get in and help victims, but lives are lost in that time frame, authorities say. In Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga, law enforcement and the fire department are trying a new approach. Members of the fire department will go in with a team of armed law enforcement officers before the scene has been deemed completely safe to treat the seriously wounded. It's a technique modeled after what combat soldiers do to treat the wounded in a war zone. Officials hope putting it in place will help save lives in the future.

Rancho Cucamonga's Assuming We Survive to headline Glass House

Wes Woods View gallery Matt Kemp steps in for his first at-bat on Aug. 31 against the Lancaster JetHawks. COMMENTARY | Matt Kemp has spent time on the disabled list three separate times this season -- twice for his shoulder and once for his ankle. He's on a rehab assignment with the High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, and things couldn't be going any worse. You don't need to be present to know 0-for-18 with seven strikeouts is bad, but Kemp looks equally bad at the plate. I was in Rancho Cucamonga on Aug. 31 for the Quakes' game against the Lancaster JetHawks ( Houston Astros ' affiliate), and I'm a little concerned about his hitting mechanics right now. I took some video of the Los Angeles Dodgers ' slugger looking like anything but. Kemp's timing is so far off.

Rancho Cucamonga Chinatown House Listed As Endangered Historic Site

Girl, 4, Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga

The selections were based on the locales being at risk of destruction or damage beyond repair. The Chinatown House, built in 1919 and designated as a city landmark in 1985, is a two-story brick building that was home to about 50 Chinese American laborers. There is Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga Lawyer also a general store. The trust described the house as "one of the last remaining tangible connections to the once-thriving Chinese community that helped build modern-day Rancho Cucamonga." City officials had recently issued a notice to the property's owner, the Cucamonga Valley Water District, to correct structural issues in the vacant and neglected house. The water district was moving forward with plans to demolish the house when local advocates began pushing to save it. "It has been in ill disrepair for many years," Jo Lynne Russo-Pereyra, the water district's assistant general manager, said of the structure, noting that its second floor had been condemned more than 50 years ago. But Russo-Pereyra said that demolition plans have been tabled as the water district works with the city to secure the site, keeping out intruders who might get hurt. The water district has no plans for the site, she said.

"I ran and checked the baby's pulse. There was nothing," said Cheri Slocumb, who witnessed the crash and recalled the words of the man who was on the motorcycle with the child. "He kept saying, 'I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. Breathe, baby.'" The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Harley-Davidson sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital. He and the girl, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet, were not related, and it was unclear how they knew each other, investigators said. The motorcyclist is a combat veteran, according to an acquaintance, Jeff Swain. Swain said he was surprised to hear that the girl was on the back of the motorcycle. "There's no place for a 4-year-old on a motorcycle," Swain said.
