Rancho Cucamonga woman seeks return of seized $1 million

The Lincoln Journal Star reports that trial in the lawsuit is set to begin Monday. The patrol seized the money after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near North Platte turned up the cash wrapped in dryer sheets. The patrol says a drug-sniffing dog indicated the smell of drugs on the money. Authorities say the state is entitled to take the cash. But Tasha Mishra of Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga says she earned the money as a stripper and was sending it with two friends to invest in a New Jersey nightclub.

Adrian not happy with his defense Email LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is not pleased with his defense this season. Gonzalez committed an error on a bunt in the second inning on Monday, his second in the past four games. His six errors in 45 games at first base this season are his most since 2010, when he had eight with the Padres in 159 games. "I am disappointed with the way I'm playing defense," said Gonzalez, a three-time Gold Glove Award winner.

Bako Clobbers Rancho Cucamonga Attorney with Big Bat Attack, 14-7

Duke Von Schamann (L, 7-2) got the start for Rancho Cucamonga Attorney, riding a personal seven-game winning streak, but that came to an abrupt halt. The Blaze scored three times in the 1st inning, highlighted by a Marquez Smith two-run homer, once in the 2nd, once more in the 3rd, and twice more in the 4th on a Yorman Rodriguez opposite field blast, plating seven runs off the big righthander. On the other side, Carlos Contreras (W, 3-5) appeared focused, striking out five over five innings, including Hanley Ramirez in the 3rd. Carlos did allow three runs, with Rancho Cucamonga Attorney taking advantage of a brief scoring window with a pair of runs in the 2nd and one more in the 3rd, but they would never get closer than two runs the rest of the way.

Group stages immigration reform vigil in Upland

Cordova/Staff Photographer) RANCHO CUCAMONGA -- Ana Villalpando stood under the shade of a large tree tying to seek shelter from the warm May sun. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail revealing her heart-shaped American flag earrings. The social worker who specializes in working with children with developmental disabilities was one of about 30 people holding a prayer vigil outside Rep. Gary Miller's office Friday. "All we are asking for is a chance to live the American Dream," said Villalpando who recently found out she and her husband had been approved to receive their visas to become permanent residents. The group were members of Mi Famila Vota, or My Family Votes, and the Inland Congregations United for Change, two organization from San Bernardino asking for a town hall meeting with Miller to discuss immigration reform. Miller, R-Rancho Cucamonga Attorney Cucamonga, is currently monitoring the progress of the immigration reform bill, said Megan Mush, spokeswoman for Miller's office, and said the congressman has been meeting with constituents in his district but will mostly be in Washington, D.C., over the next few weeks.
